The Red Lake district is located 180 kilometers north of Dryden about 100 kilometers from the Manitoba border in northwestern Ontario. It spans 42,000 hectares and has produced over 29 million ounces of gold since 1949. Red Lake Gold Mines includes the Red Lake and Campbell underground mining and processing complexes, and Cochenour, a potential new source of ore. The focus at Red Lake is on asset optimization and cost reduction efforts. Continued transition to mechanized mining, bulk mining and material movement automation is expected to result in mining lower grade ore and lower mining costs. Rationalization of the infrastructure is also underway to reduce costs. Reporting to the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, the Heavy-Duty Mechanic will be responsible for providing maintenance support to underground fleet of mobile equipment at Goldcorp Red Lake Gold Mines in a safe and efficient manner.

At Red Lake, we offer a wide range of equipment for mechanics to hone their skills. We offer training and we have several OEM technicians who provide a hands-on approach in coaching our employees on several types of gear. Our mechanics are provided quality tools and clear instructions in a clean, safe work environment. We encourage all applicants with a variety of skills or backgrounds to apply.

  • 7 primary shops with the largest being over 3,000sq ft complete with multiple bridge cranes.

  • 50 + Kubota Mine Master service vehicles.
  • Numerous service, paste fill and ancillary equipment.

  • Repair and maintain all mobile equipment in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
  • Report any hazards or safety concerns to Supervisor.
  • Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Valid Heavy-Duty Mechanic Interprovincial Certificate
  • Alternately, an individual possessing a Red Seal Truck & Coach or Automotive Service Technician certificate
  • Underground experience working with mobile equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
