The Red Lake district is located 180 kilometers north of Dryden about 100 kilometers from the Manitoba border in northwestern Ontario. It spans 42,000 hectares and has produced over 29 million ounces of gold since 1949. Red Lake Gold Mines includes the Red Lake and Campbell underground mining and processing complexes, and Cochenour, a potential new source of ore. The focus at Red Lake is on asset optimization and cost reduction efforts. Continued transition to mechanized mining, bulk mining and material movement automation is expected to result in mining lower grade ore and lower mining costs. Rationalization of the infrastructure is also underway to reduce costs. Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Lead Hand/ Supervisor, the Mill Maintenance Millwright will be responsible for safely installing, repairing and maintaining the process/mill equipment at Goldcorp Red Lake Gold Mines. The schedule for this role will be 7x7, 10.5 hours per shift, offering a great work/life balance. Relocation assistance to Red Lake will be offered to the successful candidate.
 
Red Lake Gold Mines provides a very diverse environment that will allow the trades person to grow their skill set. At our location the Millwright infrastructure is vast including the following:
  • Two (2) operating processing mills at 2 locations, including flotation circuits
  • Two (2) crushing plants and conveyor systems to both
  • One Autoclave
  • Water treatment plants
  • Two (2) paste plants and possibly 3 with Cochenour
 
What you’ll do 
  • Perform maintenance functions and duties associated with predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain process equipment.
  • Align, level, and install machine sections components and drives ensuring safe lifting procedures.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and maintain various types of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Lay out, assemble and install piping, fitting, valves and hoses associated with various inflows and outflows throughout the plant.
  • Assist in training of apprentices on procedures and safe mechanical practices
  • Lubricate equipment.
  • Complete inspection reports, daily journals, equipment logs and technical reports.
  • Maintain workplace in neat and orderly condition.
  • Work in conjunction with the Maintenance Planning Coordinator when it comes to preventative maintenance issues and specialized or capital work.
  • Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned
Who you are
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary institution in a mechanical-related program or have acquired qualifications of the trade by progressively advancing through an apprenticeship program in order to become certified.
  • Must possess a valid Journeyman Millwright Interprovincial Certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years trades experience in a heavy industrial field is required.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety
  • Committed to continuous improvement with a vested interest in developing oneself as well as others around them
  • Interested in working within a diverse and inclusive environment with enthusiasm to work collaboratively and respectfully to achieve mutual success.
  • Agile, with the ability to focus on priorities and re-align when needed
  • Clear communicator with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
