The Coffee Mine Project ("Coffee") is a proposed hard-rock gold mine. Coffee will be a premier, high-grade, open pit heap leach gold mine project, built to world class standards, located in Canada’s Yukon Territory.  We see ourselves in a long-term relationship with our First Nation Partners and the Yukon Territory. Geology Technician (Temporary Contract)
Coffee Gold Project, Yukon
 
Reporting to the Exploration Coordinator, the Geology Technician will be responsible for collecting geotechnical data from all aspects of the drilling program.  This role requires the candidate to maintain high levels of safety and demonstrate environmental awareness by following all government and corporate regulations and policies.  This position is seasonal and is expected to run from March through to December but could be shorter or longer dependent on drill results. This role has the potential for growth and career advancement at the proposed Coffee Gold Mine.   
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Moving and organizing diamond drill core
  • Completing rock quality and specific gravity measurements
  • Working with oriented drill core
  • Geological sampling and data entry
  • Analyzing and managing samples from RC drills
  • Managing sample submission process, including quality control & shipment tracking
Requirements
 
  • Preferred candidate will have a diploma in Geological Technology or similar
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience in exploration preferred
  • Strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry and push 35 kg
  • Ability to frequently reach below and at-shoulder level
  • Possession of driver’s license preferred
  • Completion of grade 12
  • Able to work day or night shift
  • Consent to a pre-employment, drug & alcohol screening
 
This will be a fly-in/fly-out position based at the Coffee Project site, rotational schedule will be two weeks in/two weeks out.
