General Opportunities
Coffee Mine Project –  Coffee Project Site, Yukon

The Coffee Mine Project ("Coffee") is a proposed hard-rock gold mine. Coffee will be a premier, high-grade, open pit heap leach gold mine project, built to world class standards, located in Canada’s Yukon Territory.  We see ourselves in a long-term relationship with our First Nation Partners and the Yukon Territory. Caring for it is crucial, so we take safety, sustainability, environmental and social responsibility seriously in all that we do at Coffee.

A Feasibility Study released in early 2016 indicates that Coffee is a robust, rapid pay-back and high margin project and proposes four open pits mined by conventional truck and shovel methods at a nominal ore mining rate of 5 million tonnes per annum, for approximately ten years. However, as we continue to explore Coffee, we look to extend the life of the mine. Mine construction is scheduled to begin in late 2019, assuming necessary permits are granted in due course, and is expected to take 18 months from first mobilization to first gold production.

Coffee is located approximately 130km south of Dawson City. The property is currently accessed by the Yukon River, helicopter or airplane. On site 23km all-season road connects the Coffee barge landing site, airstrip, camp and gold deposits. Employees based at the Coffee Project Site are currently flown to site from either Whitehorse or Dawson City.

Upon completion, the site will be accessed principally from Dawson City, by a 214 km single-lane, gravel road with pullouts. Construction of the access road is expected to take approximately 9 months.

We are seeking individuals interested in joining the Coffee Team. Potential opportunities will be coming up over the next several months and can include jobs in construction, exploration, engineering, maintenance/trades, and eventually mining once we are in operations. There will also be opportunities in operating equipment, cooking, camp services, logistics, safety and training. If any of this is of interest to you, or something you want to work towards, create a profile in our system, apply to this general opportunities posting, and set yourself up for job alerts so you are among the first notified every time we post a job.

We thank all applicants for taking the time to apply for work on the Coffee Mine Project. Please be advised that only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted, and that not all positions will be available immediately.

As an equal opportunity employer, Goldcorp is committed to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
